Single-family Residential Service
All single-family residences and duplexes (two units) will be provided with the following enhanced services on your new scheduled collection day:
Recyclable Materials (64 gallon cart available in most service areas)
Green waste (96 gallon cart available in most service areas)
Household trash (96, 64 and 35 gallon cart available in most service areas)
Place all carts at curbside by 6:00 am on your scheduled collection day or the night before. Lids must be closed, and the lid opening must face towards the street. Carts should be placed side-by-side at least 2 feet apart and 2 feet away from parked cars or objects.
Additional recyclable carts, green waste carts or additional trash carts are available at an additional cost.
Discounts
Single-family residents who qualify for the senior discount must be 65 years of age or older, head of household and qualify for utility rate discounts. Please contact Customer Service for additional information and application.
Maximum Weight Limits
96-gallon carts: 250 lbs.
To avoid exceeding the weight limitation of the cart, or causing possible damage to the cart or collection vehicle, do not place rocks, concrete, bricks or dirt inside carts. Any items placed within the cart must fall out easily when the cart is being serviced. Please do not overfill or tightly pack items into the cart.
If the cart exceeds the weight limitation, the driver will attempt service and will notify the dispatch office of the problem. If the driver is unable to service the cart the dispatch office will try to contact the customer listed on the account. It will then be the responsibility of the resident to make the correction and contact Waste Management for service. If the problem is corrected by 2 p.m. on the same day, contact WM and we will return before 6 p.m. to empty the cart at no extra charge.
Resident Responsibility for Cart
Each resident is responsible for the proper care and security of the trash and recycling carts. Customers will be charged to replace carts that are damaged or destroyed
